People are so Darn Nice!

A huge thank you to everyone who has sent congratulations our way. Your kindness overwhelms me! We are getting over the initial bewilderment and it's becoming more real every day. It has been fun to celebrate via blog comments, phone calls, and emails. We feel so supported and loved. It's nice to know there are good people we can count on.

What I did not count on, though, is the bone-numbing fatigue that I'm feeling. The kind of tired that makes mopping the floors seem like a herculean task. The kind of tired that makes my kids say, "Why are you closing your eyes again?"

I also didn't count on my pants being so snug already. Is that normal??? I had to get dressed for a wedding reception last night and it was, shall we say, enlightening. Oh, dear.

Nonetheless, we are looking forward to a happy crowd tomorrow for breakfast. Viva la Freedom, and Happy Fourth of July! Come if you are willing to celebrate and overlook some mild clutter.

Who knew cooking a baby could be so exhausting!?

P.S. Next week I will find something else to talk about, I promise.

Congrats! We will be with the Siegfrieds and Winters celebrating the 4th in Ft. Collins. I will share the good news. Believe me, there is no tired like first trimester tired. You can feel it in your bone marrow. My recommendation is to eat a lot of ice cream. I find that babies in utero must like it - because I always want it when I'm pregnant.

Hugs and kisses to you Thomas and the kids. We love you!

What a great surprise to see you on Laurens comment's. I just started blogging, and I have found many friends from long ago. You still look the same, and what a cute family you have. I think the last time I saw you was at Rick's when you were Kolete's roomie.
Ck-out my blog anytime. I'm on Lauren's list of friends (Greg and Kristy). Would love to keep in touch with you. Hope you remember me!!!! Congrats!

Talking about a much anticipated pregnancy never gets old so talk away.

I think that once you know that you are pregnant the body goes into show mode. Everything that just the day before fit doesn't. If you are like me I hated anything and I mean anything touching my tummy. It was awful to find things that could hang that way. I think the first trimester is the hardest, there is so much change. I worked full-time during the first and during lunch I would go sleep in a conference room, sleep on the drive home (my hubby picked me up) and then once I got home I would take a 3 hour nap, wake up and eat dinner and then go back to sleep for the rest of the night and still wake up completely exhausted. So take care of yourself and rest when you can.

I am so happy for you - what a blessing!!!

Talk away my friend! I want to hear every little gory detail. Well, not really the gory stuff... just everything else. You have earned the right to talk about it all you want!

And, now you get to take naps and not feel guilty! Yeah!

I wish we lived closer and could join you for breakfast. What a great tradition... their is nothing like the fatigue of the first few months of pregnancy...and the "fog" of the first few weeks after delivery. And with colby if it hadn't been for shear pride I easily could have worn maternity clothes at month 2. to quote Clark Griswold....It's all part of the experience" but then there is also nothing like the 'fluttering' feeling when you can first feel the baby move... I can't tell you how excited I am for you... my boys just ran in to see why I was screaming.... love you and can't wait to talk to you. and PLEASE don't stop talking about being pregnant.... I love to hear everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello Preggers!
Yes, the fatigue and bloating is completely normal in the first trimester. Get ready for some possible nasty nausea.
For me, I couldn't smell or prepare raw meat. It made me want to and sometimes I did, vomit.
Just a little something to remember: keep ground coffee beans close by and smell them when you have waves of nausea. IT REALLY WORKS!
Love ya tons! XOXO

This news is so great! I can't wait for this new baby Wicke! I remember how tired I was at the beginning. I slept at least 16 hours a day. I could have slept forever!
