We are off to the zoo this morning, so this will be quick. A while back I was tagged by Katie to share 7 little-known quirks about myself. So here is my beginning.
1. I dislike showers and am a full-fledged bather. And more accurately a bubble bath bather. It's just delightful. And I would rather my entire body be immersed up to my neck in hot water than to have half my body exposed to the breeze. So there.
2. I'm developing stage fright.
3. I have a dream to run a bed and breakfast or a small cafe, but how I will do this and return to teaching is the conundrum. That is what stinks about life. Every choice has to close some other doors.
4. I don't like making choices.

Ok, Laurel. Here's an interesting thing. The other night, I was driving home in my dh's fancy car with XM radio. It's pretty fun. I was listening to the Broadway channel and "Honeybun" was playing. I was singing at the top of my lungs, "A Hundred and One Pounds of FUN!" And I got a little sad, because I realized that I had always planned to go back and do plays when I was older (like my mom did the whole time I was growing up) and it doesn't look like that will happen. I mean, when I was growing up, we just ran around the theater all night while my mom directed or whatever. Now, I have piano lessons on one night, Special Olympics another, Basketball another night and horses, gymnastic, etc. You get the idea. It's not going to slow down at any point.
So what I'm saying is. Sometimes it's sad and hard to realize that we can't do it all and some dreams may not actually ever come to fruition. Who knows? Maybe when they are moved away and have families of their own. But I'll still have two cute boys tagging along with me. I'd say it's a pretty decent trade-off.
Maybe you could own a B&B after you've "retired." Lots of people do that. It's not a lot of work, generates some income and you could still satisfy both dreams.
I love baths, too, but we've had such a terrible drought recently that I've given up long, hot, soaking baths. Sigh. I miss them.
Laurel - I want a post about your early days of marriage and the blender and the question: Is this a hill you want to die on? I think about that lesson almost weekly but can't remember if you said it to Thomas or if Thomas said it to you. I use that lesson all the time - thank you - but want to get the story right! Here are a few more facts about you to add to your list - I Started where you left off:
5. You can cook like Paula Dean, Emeril, Sara Lee, Moly Mormon, and Martha - all at the same time.
6. You are almost always the life of the party.
7. Everyone who knows you is better for it.
8. You sometimes swear but I think your true friends like you better because of that trait.
ooh, the ZOO!!! does ya'll have pygmy marmosets like here in Bham? I LOVE the pygmy marmosets.
#2- I'm speachless!
