Bad News, Good News, a Pet Peeve, and an Explanation

The bad news:
My mom left this morning. That makes me sad. I think I will lay around in my bathrobe today and sulk. I like having her around and miss her already.

The good news:

I do not have skin cancer after all. You may remember that I had developed an unsightly something on my arm. Turns out it is some unpronouncable something that means that a tiny blood vessel is bleeding to the surface. Mmm, delightful, huh? Anyway they got rid of it.

The pet peeve:
Don't you think that a prerequisite for working for a dermatologist should be a poker face? Like when I showed the male nurse (although I'm doubting his training) my unsightly nubbin, he should probably not wrinkle his nose in disgust? Probably?

On why my son was carrying a pink umbrella at the zoo:
It's really quite simple. That umbrella was mine. After insisting that he carry his umbrella himself, he left it in the car. As strange as he looked with the pink umbrella, I looked worse with my wet head. Motherhood really has its perks, doesn't it?

I had a weird thing in my mouth a while a ago - it felt kind of like a cyst. I went to my doctor, she took a look and said, "Oh, weird!" So I know how you feel. Plus, all she did was refer me to a specialist and charge me $60.

That's great and all but we just want to know where the hell Ty Ty is while you blog away??? Shilo called the bathrobe before we read it...."I can just picture it now...Laurel is in her bathrobe..." And sure enough there you are, moping.

Somehow I knew you would have a great explaination. At least he accepted your umbrella. Mine would have insisted that we go back to the car and get his. And when I 'very loving' explained why we would not walk allllll the way back to the car for his umbrella, I would have been told that it was my fault that the umbrella was forgotten and then THE MELT DOWN would have occured. Kudos to Griffin for being man enough to pull off a pink umbrella!

I'm so happy that all is well. And dumb din-a-ling doctors. (not ALL doctors.)

My family doctor, called me at home and didn't ask if I was alone, when he called to tell me that he thought I had cancer. Nice. (BTW, I don't. Sigh.) But, I've not been back to him since.

I totally know what you mean about having a poker face. I don't want to know that my aliment has actually freaked my Dr out!
I took Thing 2 to the Dr this summer because he had the GROSSEST hives I had ever seen! The Dr came in and gasped "Wow thats the worst thing I have ever seen!" Then left and came back in with all the other Drs in the practice group so that they could all gawk at his ghastly hives and mumble, "yup. I've never seen anything like that either!"
Uh. Nice!
So yeah. Poker face people. Please use the Poker face!

Sorry I said "hell." I was going to erase it but then my friend said to leave it because then you would know for sure it was not HER talking. Nice.

I never noticed the pink umbrella... I had to go back and look. Griffin is adorable in any color umbrella. I am happy to hear that your "bump" was nothing...(I knew it was not cancer:) I have to say your mom is amazing. I enjoyed the little time I got to see her. I am sure she is feeling the same way you are.....OK after a couple days rest from all the activities.

I had the same exact thing on my arm too! It came while pregnant with Naomi and now I have a nasty huge keloid scar. So annoying.

Glad you had time with your Mom. I know you had a wonderful time together. Sorry she got sick.

I love it that Grif used the pink umbrella. Real men (and boys) will carry pink umbrella's if they have too. Love Ya!

How did I miss the bump? Well, anyway, glad it wasn't cancer. That's always my first thought when anything new pops up!
