It was horrible! It took a huge portion of the day; I was tripling a new recipe that was
supposed to be a Krispy Kreme copycat, which it certainly WASN'T! I was so disappointed in them I threw all the ones my kids didn't eat away. That means I'm making batches of cookies today. Another day in the kitchen...arghhh!
Something similar happened to me while trying to make Martha Stewart's sugar cookies. It was a debacle. I am never opposed to buying my neighbor gifts.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, Laurel. That stinks.
ReplyDeleteThis is why I have a sign in my kitchen that reads, "I kiss better than I cook". Me and the kitchen just don't get along. Hope you fair better with the cookies today. :)
Oh, I'm so sorry! I'm sure your cookies will be great.
ReplyDeleteOkay, 1st thing is, I am bummed I am not getting donuts! Dang. J/K
ReplyDeleteReally, that totally stinks. Let's have a donut day after Christmas, because I want to figure out how to do them also. I guess I will be okay with cookies. LOL
Shilo said you were going insane with the donut thing! Maybe "going" isn't quite the right word. I am absolutely and totally AGAINST neighbor gifts! Our neighborhood actually did a cool thing...we had a "hot chocolate" party outside someone's home. Everyone brings one dozen treats and contributes to a pot for someone in need in our surroundings instead of doing the neighborhood gift thing. We raised over a thousand bucks for a good cause!!! Maybe next year???
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good luck with the cookies.
ReplyDeleteI hate the pressure to "impress" the neighbors, I do not think that this is what Christmas is all about. Hint for next year - hit Bath and Body Work's when they have those killer sales and stock up on the pump soap. I have that for a just-in-case moment and need a quick gift. Who doesn't like that stuff?
ReplyDeleteKrispy Creams' anyone...?
oh no!!!
ReplyDeleteim sending happy cooking thoughts your way...good luck!
